Q: How do I know what tax exemptions I receive on my property?

A: You can see what exemptions you currently receive in a few places:

  1. Your physical property tax bill. You can see the exemptions you currently receive in the second installment property tax bill for the most recent year. It will be reflected on the lower left-hand side of the bill.
  2. Cook County Treasurer’s website. You can search here by your property address. On your property details page, click on “Tax Exemptions” on the left-hand side menu. This will tell you the exemptions you have received on your property tax bill for the last four years.
  3. Cook County Property Info Website. You can also search for your home by property address here. On your property details page, you will see what exemptions have been applied to your bill over the past few years.
  4. Cook County Assessor’s Website. Click here to search by property address. Once your property details page loads, scroll down to the “Exemption History & Status” section to see what exemptions you received over the past five years.
